Tufts MC to field Boston Marathon team for 125th Boston Marathon

Tufts Medical Center announced today it has been accepted into the Boston Marathon Official Charity Program for the eighth consecutive year. The Boston Athletic Association has provided Tufts Medical Center with 50 invitational entries in the 2021 Boston Marathon on October 11, 2021.

“We are grateful to have once again been selected as a member of the Boston Marathon Official Charity Program,” said Michael Tarnoff, MD, Interim President and CEO of Tufts Medical Center and Tufts Children’s Hospital. “Tufts Medical Center relies on the funds raised through our Boston Marathon team to help us provide the best patient care possible. We are incredibly grateful for the commitment and support of each and every member of Team Tufts MC. After a very challenging year, we look forward to once again participating in this Boston tradition and celebrating our runners’ success!”  

Team Tufts MC has raised more than $2.6M to support Tufts Medical Center and Tufts Children’s Hospital. Funds raised through Team Tufts MC directly support patient care, research to improve medical treatments, training of the next generation of health care professionals and enhancements to the facilities where all this work takes place. This year, the team aims to raise more than $500,000.
