Myelodysplastic Syndrome

Stem cells are immature cells that can grow into red blood cells that carry oxygen through the body, white blood cells that fight infection, and platelets that clot blood. With myelodysplastic syndrome, stem cells do not mature and turn into healthy blood cells.
