Research + Clinical Trials

In addition to the comprehensive care we provide to children with cancer and hematologic disease, our Division serves as a major clinical and translational research hub for pediatric hematology/oncology.

Clinical Trials

As a member of various networks such as the American Society of Hematology (ASH) and the Children’s Oncology Group (COG) we work cooperatively with other pediatric cancer programs around the world to conduct large-scale clinical trials.

Research Projects

In addition, we partner with industry in relevant drug development efforts, and our own physician-scientists initiate research projects to further advance the understanding of childhood cancers and blood disorders.

The presence of such a robust research program ensures that patients benefit from the most up-to-date knowledge about pediatric cancers and hematologic disorders, and it gives them access to innovative treatment options through clinical trials and research protocols that may not be available anyplace else.

Research is under way in coagulation, lymphocyte physiology, red cell disorders, treatment of neuroblastoma, high-grade brain tumors and symptom control.
