Electric Outlet Safety Covers

Electric Outlet Safety Covers prevent injuries that could occur when children stick fingers or other objects into open electrical sockets.

An electric current can cause severe damage because the body conducts electricity quite well. A child can be hurt in several ways:

  • by the electrical effect on the heart resulting in cardiac arrest
  • destruction of muscle from electrical current passing through the body
  • burns on the skin from contact with the electrical source

Always keep electrical sockets covered, especially when there are small children nearby.

KPTI provides outlet covers to Kiwanis Clubs and others to distribute to groups such as:

  • Doctor's offices
  • Police and fire departments
  • Parent's groups
  • Hospitals
  • Day care centers

Each packet contains 24 covers

Note: If you are ordering the Early Childhood Injury Prevention Program (ECIP), there is no need to order the Electric Outlet Safety Covers since they are included as part of the ECIP Program.
