Getting Around

We know navigating a hospital when you are concerned about your child’s health can be stressful. If you need help, don’t hesitate to ask any employee—you can spot us by our badges. We all consider it part of our jobs to help visitors with directions.

Wheelchair and stroller access

There are wheelchairs available at all major entrances of Tufts Medical Center and Tufts Medical Center for your convenience and assistance. If you cannot locate a wheelchair, please call 617-636-2636 and provide your location within the hospital. We will bring a wheelchair to you.

Inpatient family waiting areas

Inpatient family waiting areas are located in proximity to the unit where your child is staying.

Parents—it is common to put your own needs last while your child is in the hospital; however, it is important to take some time for yourself. Try to go for a walk, get a cup of coffee and take some time to rest so you can best support your child.
