Blue Distinction Centers+ for Maternity Care demonstrate expertise and a commitment to quality care for vaginal and cesarean section deliveries. These Centers demonstrate better overall patient satisfaction and a lower percentage of early elective deliveries.

This distinction recognizes facilities that have excelled in providing care to mothers, newborns and their families, as verified by the 2019 Leapfrog Hospital Survey. 

Lowell General Hospital was recently named one of the nation’s top Maternity Hospitals for 2020 by Newsweek magazine and the Leapfrog Group. We are one of just seven hospitals in Massachusetts to make this list. A total of 231 hospitals in 36 states were named.
