Expert care for hospitalized children

Navigating today's complex hospital system can be stressful, especially when you're caring for a sick or injured child. That's where our pediatric hospitalist team comes in.

Our hospitalists are board-certified pediatricians who specialize in treating children in a hospital setting. We work in partnership with parents and referring physicians to help each patient have the best possible hospital stay — and to stay healthy once discharged.

We're here when you need us

We understand your trusted pediatrician can't always be by your child's bedside in the hospital. So our hospitalists are available to provide pediatric care at Tufts Medical Center and our community hospitals.

We're always here to review test results, consult with additional specialists and answer questions — but that's not all we do. We also track each child's treatment plan to make sure they're getting superior, individualized care at all times.

Our hospitalists also collaborate with community pediatricians to promote continuity of care and a smooth transition when your child is ready to go home. Referring physicians can reach a hospitalist at any time by calling 877-KIDS-FHC (877-543-7342).

A team approach to care

At Tufts Medical Center and its affiliates, a hospitalist sees every child every day. During these daily visits, we invite the entire care team to join us to review each patient's progress. Team members may include family members, referring physicians, specialists, pharmacists, nutritionists, social workers, physical therapists and others. This is a great time for parents to ask questions or voice concerns, and we'll work with you to schedule these meetings during your visits.
