Rheumatology Research

Overview

Research in the Division of Rheumatology includes investigations of the pathogenesis of osteoarthritis, methods to measure its progression and investigator-initiated and sponsored clinical trials of investigational treatments for osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and lupus, among other disorders.

One major research program within the Division is our study of complementary and alternative medicine including the use of Tai Chi for chronic rheumatic diseases such as osteoarthritis and fibromyalgia.  Our Center for Integrative Medicine evaluates cost-effective methods of complementary and alternative medicine therapies.
