Doctoral Psychology Practicum Training Program

The Department of Psychiatry at Tufts Medical Center offers a 24-hour per week practicum for doctoral students in Clinical and Counseling Psychology from September through May each year.

Psychology trainees have the opportunity to participate in a variety of intake and consultation clinics, work with patients in individual and family therapy modalities, and shadow, administer and interpret neuropsychological and psychological testing. Students receive one hour of psychotherapy supervision per week and one hour of testing supervision per week in addition to being a part of a biweekly case conference with other trainees and therapists in the department. Psychology students are integrated into the psychiatry training in the department and are invited to participate in didactics, multidisciplinary case conferences, and many other learning opportunities throughout the hospital.

Tufts Medical Center Department of Psychiatry is a member of the Massachusetts Psychology Training Consortium.
