Overview

Principal Investigator: Raffi Karagozian, MD

This is a 10-year, longitudinal, observational study of patients with PSC to address knowledge gaps in the clinical presentation, natural history, epidemiology, progression, and outcomes of PSC. In addition, the study will address prognostic models and biomarker development. There will be an option to participate in specimen repository at each site for translational studies of genomics and novel biomarkers discovery.

Inclusion Criteria
  • Diagnosis of Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis
Exclusion Criteria
  • Presence of other liver diseases
  • Inability to give informed consent
  • Liver transplantation prior to January 1, 2008
Study Requirements

This is an observational study of data collected from records of clinical visits, laboratories, imaging, pathology samples, and procedures performed as part of the patients’ usual care and according to accepted practice standards. The study may include the collection of retrospective data as well as the prospective collection of data. This means there are no special research visits/blood draws or other tests. Data from your routine medical appointments will be collected for 10 years afterwhich the study will end and your data will no longer be collected.
